Real stories: From new arrival to owning your own Toyota

Sometimes we think our goals are impossible. That because we just arrived, because our English isn't perfect or because we have no credit, the doors are closed.

But if my work has taught me anything, it's that Latino perseverance has no limits.

Today I want to share three short but powerful stories of real clients (names changed for privacy) who trusted the process and are happily driving today.

Carlos's story: “I thought it was impossible”

Carlos arrived from Venezuela 4 months ago. He works in construction and needed a tough truck. He had been to three places before coming to see me. Every one of them asked for a co-signer or an $8,000 down payment that he didn't have.

“Roy, I need to work, but nobody will give me a chance,” he told me.

We sat down, reviewed his income (which was good and steady) and looked for options with the dealerships. We got him approved for a 2021 Toyota Tacoma through a special program for self-employed workers. He didn't need a co-signer.

Today Carlos has doubled his work contracts because he has a way to get around with his tools. His truck wasn't an expense; it was an investment.

María and her family's safety

María is a single mother of two. Her biggest fear was getting stranded on the highway in an old car. “I don't know anything about cars, Roy. I need something that won't let me down,” she explained.

Many salespeople would have tried to sell her any cheap car as a quick fix. We focused on safety and reliability.

José: Taking back control

We showed him how a trade-in works. We took his old car as part of the payment, paid off that bad debt and put him in a new Toyota Corolla with a much fairer bank interest rate.

José is now actively repairing his credit and learning to manage his finances with our courses.
